Gallery: Traverse City’s Bike Plows

Every winter, Norte harnesses the power of the bicycle to clear neighborhood trails and sidewalks the awesome way. Using custom bike plows designed locally by Dr. Tom Auer and built by Norte’s senior advisor, Mr. Otwell, the TC Bike Plow program is dedicated in helping keep our community walkable/bikeable during the snowy months.

We are partnering with an army of awesome people to bring bike plowing to every neighborhood in Traverse City. You can plow as often or as little as you want. You can plow a specific route or mix it up depending on your mood. This is a very grassroots initiative meant to build community via the winter bicycle.

If you want to build your own, we’ve also open-sourced Dr. Auer’s design to bring the Traverse City Bike Plow to the greater DIY/maker community. How-to instructional HERE.
