The Eastern Elementary High-lander

The Eastern Elementary High-lander is a Norte! Bike Train that connects the Highland Park neighborhood to Eastern Elementary for Traverse City Bikes To School Day.

The High-lander departs from its Station at 1734 Cherry Lane Drive (southeast corner of Cherry Lane and Highland Park) at 8:30.

With a nod to the majestic Royal Highlander of London fame, the High-lander enjoys a short but sweet down the “hill” to Eastern Elementary. Of course, we have to climb that hill back home but no biggie, we’re fit and tough and strong.

About a 0.5 km ride.

The High-lander will arrive back at its Station at 4:15.

A Norte! volunteer will lead the High-lander both to and from school. Parents are responsible for getting their child to The High-lander Station on time as well as picking them up there after school.

Our trains pride themselves on being punctual. We can’t be late for school therefore The High-lander will not wait for anyone.

Bike To School Fridays rules apply:

Helmets required.
Safe riding mandatory.
Smiles and High Fives encouraged.

Please email Nikki Stahl, the High-lander’s chief Conductor, at if you’re planning on riding The High-lander.
