bike2sail TC: A Super Awesome, Zero Emission Adventure For Kids
In partnership with Traverse Area Community Sailing, Norte! is excited to announce the inaugural bike2sail TC on Sunday, July 26th.
bike2sail TC is a super awesome, zero emission adventure for kids in Traverse City. We’ll ride bikes. We’ll sail boats. We’ll burn zero (zero!) fossil fuels. And, we’ll have FUN! For free. Yes! Free.
Sunday, July 26.
Meet at The Open Space at 12:30. We’ll start rolling at 12:45. Norte! volunteers will lead the group to beautiful Boardman Lake via the TART Trail.
All awesome kids 12 and under.
What should I bring?
Your bike. A helmet. A life jacket (just wear it while you ride or stuff it in your backpack). Some water. Maybe a snack. Sunscreen is probably a good idea, too. But parents are not necessary (although they are welcome!!).
Do I need to register?
Si. Use this fancy form HERE to RSVP. We are limited to 20 spots. If we exceed 20, we will draw names randomly.
What are we going to do when we get to TACS?
Sail boats on Boardman Lake, silly.
What if I’ve never sailed before?
No worries. We’ll team you up with an experienced sailor who’ll show you the ropes.
You mentioned that it’s free. Is it really free?
Yep. Totally free.
Will there be snacks?
Probably not so…byo-snacks.
Will it be fun?
100% mucho fun. You should come.
How do I get back home from TACS?
By bike, of course. Norte! will not be chauffeuring the group back to The Open Space so if parents would like to pedal home with their child, they can meet us at TACS around 3.
Traverse Area Community Sailing has been mixing kids with water since 1994 whose mission is to provide sailing opportunities for the Grand Traverse Region. Learn more about their mission HERE.
