Traverse City Track Club To Support Safe Routes To School

The Traverse City Track Club (TCTC) is a local gem. Committed to helping make Traverse City a world class place to live, work and raise a family, the TCTC has and continues to significantly invest in this amazing place we call home.

Case in point: since 2007 the TCTC has donated, coordinated through the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation, more than $1.5 million to local organizations! And this fall, the TCTC awarded $44,173 to seven nonprofits including $6,000 to Norte’s Traverse City-wide Safe Routes To School initiative.

“The TCTC is proud and grateful to be able to support programs like Norte, whose focus on family recreation through health and fitness programming aligns with our mission as an organization. Since our Bayshore Event became so financially stable starting in 2006, the TCTC charitable gifts committee has been able to embrace programs that get people of all ages out and more active through walking and running. Norte’s Safe Routes to School, Winter Walk Wednesdays and now Run Sábados are exciting programs we are glad to support,” says Lisa Taylor, TCTC Executive Director.

With TCTC’s generous support, Norte aims to empower more Traverse City elementary and middle school students to actively get themselves to school. Our educational programs are dedicated to developing the next generation of happy, healthy, ready to learn and active for life leaders.
