Frozen Rabbit 5K Run and Walk

Start 2022 off with movement and friendship and join Norte and Running Fit for the annual Frozen Rabbit — a cool, sometimes cold, 5k walk or run on New Year’s Day. One thing for sure, it’s always fun and family-friendly — all ages and canine friends welcome.

We start and end at the Norte Wheelhouse at the Civic Center. So start your year off on the right foot with a fun stroll or run with old and new friends.

  • WHEN: Saturday, January 1, at 11 am
  • WHERE: The Norte Wheelhouse (the very orange building on the north side of the Grand Traverse County Civic Center)
  • WHAT: A fun 5k run or walk to start the New Year off right
  • WHY: Get moving, connect with neighbors, support happy, healthy, strong.

Frozen Rabbit registration starts right here with a suggested minimum donation of $15. Runners 12 and under may join free of charge. All proceeds benefit Norte’s youth programs, helping to ensure young people across northern Michigan have access to healthy, happy activities.

We’ll be awarding prizes based on enthusiasm rather than speed to keep this event chill and laid back. Our volunteers will pick winners based on:

  • Best Costume
  • Most Adorable Four-Legged Friend
  • Most Creative Combo Costume for Parent and Child in a Stroller

This is an open course, so please obey all traffic laws and be courteous to all other road users. Waves and smiles are encouraged.

Volunteers are always appreciated for this fun run.
