Varsity Mountain Bike Team

The Varsity squad is an elite group of young men and women representing six area middle and high schools, housed within the Grand Traverse Regional Youth Mountain Bike Team. These students hit the trails at an elite level with dedication and persistence.

We honor their commitment with a unique race jersey that will identify our riders as elite varsity team members. These dedicated and speedy young riders will look just as flash once they start to tackle local, regional, state, and (soon) national-level races.

Norte is committed to supporting our many great local bike shops. Thank you to Brick Wheels, The Cyclery, Suttons Bay Bikes, Mission Cycles, and Einstein Cycles for helping these dedicated local young people.

The following shops provide shop discounts to Varsity riders (not their families and friends) for the 2021 calendar year:

  • Brick Wheels:  20% off cycling accessories, clothing, and parts
  • The Cyclery: 15% off cycling accessories, clothing for Varsity riders, 10% off bike service labor & parts for Varsity riders, $2 off 1/2 day or full-day bike rentals for direct family members of the Varsity riders
