The Big Orange Promise Campaign

Join our community in the 2019 Big Orange Promise Campaign. Norte is committed to transforming the culture of health and neighborhood connection in the Grand Traverse region. Together!

We will work toward this promise by providing high-quality educational programs, impactful experiences, and effective walk/bike advocacy to help families, schools, businesses and communities in the Grand Traverse region be their best, their healthiest.

Thanks to strategic regional partnerships, a community-first, nimble and responsive approach to solving problems and seizing opportunities, along with a committed and passionate group of supporters, Norte is at a clear tipping point.

From one parent-led bike train to one neighborhood Traverse City school, to running sustainable programming at over 22 schools, Norte is helping to transform the culture of health across the Grand Traverse region.

3 Big Orange Promise Goals:

  1. Empower the Region: Assist three more Grand Traverse Region communities in realizing their active living goals.
  2. Awesomize Programming: Improve Equity | Impact | Quality | Reach.
  3. Advocate: ProWalk/ProBike accessible and connected neighborhoods: infrastructure, policies, systems, better long-term planning, and increased community involvement as it relates to active transportation.

With your help, Norte is poised and ready to stretch our wingspan wider to bring our empowerment programming to harder-to-reach kids, families, and communities across the Grand Traverse region. Our community-based grassroots approach gives youth the skills, confidence, and opportunity to adopt moving more and sitting less as a way of life. For a stronger, healthier and happier tomorrow. Together!
