Mondays at Maplehurst

Mondays at Maplehurst are a fun, family-friendly group ride at Maplehurst Natural Area. On Mondays during Bike Month, meet up with Team Orange to get rolling and get fit on Elk Rapids’ Maplehurst trails.

Mondays at Maplehurst meet from 5-6 pm every Monday in May, beginning May 10. Our weekly ride is part of our celebration of Bike Month.

Meet on May 10, May 17, May 24, and May 31. Gather at 4:45, ride out at 5.

Stay Safe: As Norte continues to do its part to #stopthespread of COVID-19, we ask that all participants arrive with masks on. We will limit the gathering time to 10-15 minutes before and after, maintaining six feet of socially distancing throughout. Then, hit the trails!

Everyone is welcome, from preschoolers on balance bikes to high school seniors on 29’ers, all ages and abilities are welcome. This ride is not guided but rather an open ride for families and friends. We 100% support kids who know their way and have the necessary skills to ride alone without an adult, but we ask parents to stick with their children. We also encourage participants to help those who need some tips. We’re on this ride together.

Norte is calling these rides into being. You do the rest.

We ask that families continue to practice responsible riding and avoid large groups of more than ten riders together. This awareness will ensure everyone has fun and stays safe and healthy.

2021 Bike Month Poster

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) strongly recommends continued effort to stop the spread. The following steps need to be taken together for the best protection.
  • Health Check – Self-monitor and stay home if you’re feeling sick.
  • Wear a mask – Take it off when you eat or drink, then put it back on, even outside.
  • Physically Distanced – Keep six feet apart as much as you can.
  • Wash Hands – Wash hands regularly. 20 seconds with soap and water.

Norte also supports socializing outside in well-ventilated areas and getting a vaccine as soon as available.  If we all work together, we will beat this pandemic.
