Patrick’s Heavy Ride with Friends
PATRICK’S HEAVY RIDE WITH FRIENDS
JULY 31, 2021
In 2018, Patrick Cotant rode 100 miles a day for two days to raise awareness and funds for Norte. He called it Patrick’s Heavy Ride. By all accounts, it was a huge success.
On July 31, Patrick and those who join him will roll out for the fourth annual Patrick’s Heavy. It’ll be another year that Patrick introduces new people to Norte.
In that first year, he raised $3,070 for our youth scholarship fund. In 2019 and 2020, he invited some friends to join him, and together they’ve raised nearly $25,000 for more kids on bikes in Northern Michigan. He’d like to double that amount with this year’s ride.
Ride bikes from Traverse City to the Mackinac Bridge via a beautiful 140-mile route. There’s also a shorter option leaving from Charlevoix. All riders then camp overnight Camp at Mill Creek Campground for 1-2 nights.
NORTE WILL PROVIDE
If you’re traveling to join the ride, Norte offers camping at the Civic Center Friday night. Norte also runs support with:
- Food/water at sag stops
- Camping at Mill Creek for one or two nights (Families welcome)
- Lunch and dinner on Saturday
- Breakfast Sunday
- Transportation back to Traverse City on Sunday
Riders leaving from Charlevoix need to secure their transportation to the starting point.
The ride is Limited to 50 ready to ride people. Ready to ride means that they can handle the 140-mile ride from Traverse City or the 80-mile ride from Charlevoix.
2021 REGISTRATION + FUNDRAISING COMMITMENTS
$35 rider fee and a $200 fundraising requirement. We help you raise the additional fund using an individual page like this to collect Norte’s Youth Scholarship Fund pledges.
Not into riding but want to help? We’re looking for 8 awesome people to drive the vans, assist at sag stops and cook at the campsite. All volunteers eat, drink and camp for free. Email Ty at email@example.com if interested in volunteering.
