Potatoes for Pedals

Come and enjoy dinner at the Cherryland Middle School Cafeteria. Support Owen Werner and his dream to make bikes available for kids with special needs.

“We are not given a good life or a bad life we are given a life – it is up to us to make it good or bad” Ward Foley
This is one of Owen’s favorite quotes by a man that has the same condition as Owen. Owen likes to use it as his mantra and even likes to use it to inspire others.

Owen has Arthrogryposis. There are 400 different kinds of Arthrogryposis. Owen more specifically has Amyoplasia. In easy-to-understand-terms it means his joints/muscles/etc didn’t develop. And/or he has contractures (or reversely- extension) at his joints.

Owen cannot ride a “normal’ bike, in fact, Owen does not have a bike because the right bike is very expensive, requires modifications and is a long process to find the right bike that can grow with Owen. While researching a bike, Owen learned about New Lyfe and what Robb does to modify bikes so children with special needs can ride too! Owen wanted to create a fundraiser to celebrate and bring awareness to all things bike related in our area! Please join us for chili, baked potatoes, all kinds of different breads and Northwoods Soda.

Let’s make this a community celebration (it is super close to Owen’s birthday so we will also have cake and a special surprise birthday present)!
